How much does the scholarship cover for my child to attend United Youth Aviators?

This Scholarship is free to attend, there is a 3rd Class Medical

(Aviation Medical) which is required when your Youth Aviator is 15yrs old. This cost is less than $200.

Where do they have the flight lessons ?

The flight lessons will take place at Republic Airport in Farmingdale LI. In the Summer they will be Monday thru Sunday (weather permitting) hours can range from 8-4pm. Your Youth Aviator will be notified in advance for availability to fly via our APP

Are there any other lessons provided ?

Yes, We will give ZOOM ground lessons which is also required during the week or weekend.

What kind of plane will they fly?

They will fly a Cessna 172- G1000 , single engine 4 seater plane

How does my child get to the Airport?

We will provide transportation to and from the Airport with a shuttle. In some cases that's necessary we will find a central location for pick up.

Funding

The majority of our funding is allotted from NYC Council Members to the NYC Department Of Youth and Community Development ( DYCD). We work diligently to acquire these funds each year.

Selection Process

We select new Youth Aviators according to the funds we acquire. We select from our waiting list in the order that we receive entries. Then we send an email to the email provided, we will attempt 3 times before we pass your list number. Emails are our main source of communication for this selection.
