The US Airmans Certificate

Airmans Certificate

  • Private Pilot License 
  • Must  acquire 40 hours of logged flight time by an FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
  • Pass an FAA written test 
  • Pass an FAA oral test 
  • Pass an FAA check ride with an FAA Certified Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) 
  • Pass an FAA third class medical exam
  • Must be 16yrs old to take your first solo flight  (which is a must requirement) 
  • Must be 17yrs old to take tests and be qualified for Airmans Certificate

The Youth Aviators and the plane

Flight Lessons

Youth aviators will leave the UYA campus and be transported to Republic Airport in Farmingdale, Long Island. There they will experience actual hands on flight.

Youth aviators will also have various program recreational activities and off campus trips every Friday.
